About
Bernadette Graham, LPCC (OH) - My approach to therapy employs an eclectic model of various interventions unique to the individual client's needs. I find it imperative to address psychological issues and promote emotional well-being. Two of my focus areas of practice are Grief and Bereavement and Veterans. Therapeutic approaches I most utilize in both areas are CBT, Narrative Therapy, Coping and Adjustment Strategies, Trauma Processing, Reintegration back to civilian life, societal/life changes, and support networks.
My theoretical approach begins with establishing rapport to create a welcoming and safe environment establishing trust through empathy and a non-judgmental attitude. Identifying the needs of the clients through previous mental health therapy or self-reporting symptoms.
My purpose of being in a helping profession has always resonated with my sense of self. As I began my educational journey after serving on active duty in the Air Force, Psychology seemed to fit the unknown of what helping profession to choose and along that path, I also pursued courses in Pre-med to have the option of attending medical school.
